Gestalt
Gestalt, is an Afro-Caribbean RnB and Folk artist, who embodies the essence of his name’s meaning: "more than the sum of its parts." Drawing from his Guyanese heritage and Griot traditions, Gestalt's music blends experimental RnB with Narrative-driven lyrics, creating a rich, multi-layered experience for fans of Afrobeats, RnB, Reggae, and even Folk. With a solo at Carnegie Hall and stage acting experience under his belt, Gestalt is no stranger to emotionally rich performance. Gestalt’s voice soars to angelic heights and soulful lows with lyrics that betray his beginnings as poet. Inspired by artists like Frank Ocean, Sampha, Childish Gambino, and Janelle Monáe, Gestalt's music resonates with listeners who seek meaning but still lose themselves in rhythm.
Gestalt's recent collaboration, "Love Letter Disclaimer," with budding songwriter Miranda Ma, is described as “what a hug sounds like” as it warms you to your core. But, his upcoming solo project, "The Fire and the Liar," promises to be a genre-bending exploration of storytelling, passion, human nature, history, and myth. It asks the question “Do we need to be authentic to be genuine?” as you are enveloped by a rich tapestry of sounds and narratives that reflect Gestalt's unique artistic vision. The first single, "Crazy Love," is set for release in June 2024, but you will be hearing him everywhere very soon. Gestalt invites listeners on a journey to explore and find new stories within the melodies.
